Abigail was in love with Gregory, and the two of them lived on the opposite banks of a river that was teeming with human-devouring alligators. Abigail, who was carrying Gregory’s child, wanted to be with Gregory, so she went to Sinbad, the riverboat captain, to ask him to take her across. Sinbad said he would be glad to ferry Abigail across the river, if she would to go to bed wit him. Abigail promptly refused, then went to her friend Ivan to ask for help. Ivan responded that he “would prefer not to” provide any assistance, explaining that he “would rather not get involved.” So, Abigail got desperate and gave in to Sinbad’s terms. Sinbad honored his end of the bargain and delivered Abigail into the arms of Gregory. When Abigail related – in explicit detail – to Gregory to the extent to which she went, to be with the man she loved, Gregory cast Abigail aside with disdain.
