Our mission: to fill the world with beautiful stories and ideas.

Do the words, “Let me just fire up this PowerPoint deck,” fill you with dread? Same with us.

That’s why we built Haiku Deck, an all new iPad and companion webapp that is changing the way people create and share beautiful presentations. We love what we’ve built and we need your help to make it better. Haiku Deck is looking for a passionate senior software engineer to help us make our service even better by extending the functionality to the web and beyond.

We’re on a mission to fill the world with beautiful stories. And with over 3 million users (and no signs of slowing down), it takes some smart engineering to make that happen.

Parse.com has gotten us to where we are, but it’s not going to take us to the next level. You are.

Scale

We need you to architect and build out the backend services that’ll allow us to continue scaling. You’re going to evaluate backend technologies and make important decisions about storage, infrastructure, performance, optimization, and cost. The system you’re building needs to support high transaction rates and be optimized to handle large image files with super smart caching.

Lead

We’re depending on you, so this is a lot of responsibility. Be ready to jump into a leadership role as a subject matter expert on day 1. You’ll be faced with challenging technical problems and trade-offs, but you also need to make decisions quickly and iterate. You’ll be shipping production code and changing core systems from your first week.

Collaborate

Remember that even though you’re leading this effort, we’re a team. We’re going to work together to make sure everything integrates seamlessly and performs well end-to-end because our user’s experience is everything. We succeed by empowering them to tell their story in the most beautiful, compelling way possible.

If you’re energized by challenging work, have a creative side, crave to change the world, love to laugh, and are an eager learner, you’re already one of us.
