LFLP Program Goals

  • Boost economic opportunities for local farmers and businesses, and foster entrepreneurship
  • Improve access to healthy local food, particularly among disadvantaged groups
  • Revitalize downtowns and traditional neighborhoods

  • Create a successful and vibrant farmers market downtown that will increase opportunities for local farmers, increase sales at the market, and increase visitors and vendors
  • Coordinate between existing markets and other food system efforts to cultivate a deeper local food culture

  • Develop criteria and weigh options for a permanent site for the Lincoln Farmers Market in the downtown area
  • Explore methods, linkages, and actions to increase food access to downtown areas and neighborhoods

Community Improvement District
The CID, along with the Downtown Conference Center, were identified as the "big" projects the Association should pursue.

The CID will be the focus for the Association for 2015.
