III.Why Lay Down our Freedom?:

1 Cor. 8:7-13

Are inanimate objects evil? Are created things evil?

By forcing our standards on others it can create a “stumbling block” that makes someone's progress in faith difficult.

Would you ever want to tear down Jesus?

How Does this Principle Apply?

...those who are “spiritual” give up their freedoms at times, not because it is convenient, but because they want to be like Jesus in building up their brothers and sisters in Christ.

This passage encourages us to know other people and their story. It encourages us to ask the question: “How am I helping others around me flourish?”
