PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Why did God rescue Israel?
"I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth."”
Genesis 9:11
“When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.”
Genesis 15:17
As we come to the table to celebrate communion we are celebrating the New Covenant purchased and established by Jesus. Yet we come relationally with examined hearts that are ready to partake as covenant members.
For some we may be the closest thing to the hands, feet, compassion and words of Christ that they may have ever experienced.
“For, as it is written, "The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."”
Romans 2:24
How much of the criticism of the church is due to the fact that we have not represented Him well?
How many times have we not had a gospel mission for the world because we haven't had much of a mission that extended beyond these walls on Sunday morning or a mission that goes beyond basic weekly programs?

“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."”
1 Peter 1:14-16
“...you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.”
1 Peter 2:9-12
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Psalm 51:10
“And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth."”
Revelation 5:9-10
“but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”
1 Peter 3:15
