PRESENTATION OUTLINE
I. The Wonder Working Power of God:
“And the Lord said: "Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,...
therefore, behold, I will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden."”
Isaiah 29:13-14
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
Romans 1:16
“A faith that depends upon clever reasoning may be demolished by a more acute argument, but the faith which is produced by the power of God can never be overthrown.”
-Wilson
We do not need to be afraid of ideas or questions because God will always prove His wisdom to be greater.
We may be afraid to ask the tough questions but God is never afraid to ask the tough questions and give the tough answers.
Our security is not in our own knowledge or wit, or ability to understand the most complicated ideas but our trust and leaning on a God who possesses all knowledge and wisdom and wit.
God’s value of you is not in your world changing strategies but in your simple obedience to what you know He has said, today, in this moment, and tomorrow.
II. God’s Choice is God’s “Artistry”:
“God has not chosen only those whom the world counts foolish and weak: he has chosen those who really are foolish and weak in this world.”
-Morris
“Thus says the Lord: "Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this,..
that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord."”
Jeremiah 9:23-24
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,”
Ephesians 2:8
Wisdom -
God has a wonderful plan for your life.
Righteousness -
You have no right to stand before God, have a relationship with God, please God on your own but you have been given that right as a gift.
Holiness -
The dirtiest thought you have ever thunk and the worst thing you have ever done cannot be ran away from or wiped clean except through Jesus sacrifice.
Redemption -
Those who are the living dead among us, who have lived and sold themselves into slavery for so long can find life and regeneration through the work of Christ.
III.Knowing Nothing but Christ Crucified:
Shutting your mouth and not having to get the last word in.
Showing and even embracing your weakness and imperfections as just that, weakness and imperfection and foolishness.
Admitting that sometimes you don't have a clue and allow God to give you a clue.
Do, prepare, study, rehearse, but do not rely on these things and these things alone.
...have a resting faith secured in Christ by His power.
“For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?...
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.”
2 Corinthians 2:15-17
