I.Waiting for Jesus:
John 21:1-3

A familiar place
but unfamiliar circumstances for
the disciples.

Everything has changed and there is no indication that their life is going back to “normal”
anytime soon…
So what do they do?

“I am going fishing”

The familiar places
and unfamiliar circumstances for us:

Everything has changed and there is no indication that it is going back to “normal” anytime soon…
So what do we do?

How is God calling you into a new “normal” that is not a
temporary fix?

II.Lead by Faith and Not by Sight:
John 21:4-14

“But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken,...

"Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.” ‭‭
Luke‬ ‭5:8-11

When Jesus calls us
to do something
it is fruitful.

Jesus never ceases to give the disciples and us honor to be a part of His story and
His Kingdom.

Would we dare ask
if Jesus is really at work in our world
right now?

What is one way that you need to have faith that Jesus is at work even though you cannot see how yet?

Do you trust Jesus enough to disrupt all
of your plans and traditions and still
be good?

III.Rehabilitation and Recommissioning:
John 21:15-17

Any other day Peter would have answered this question beaming with pride…
but not today.

Without love there can be no rehabilitation, no mission, no revival.

3X Peter denied Jesus and yet through this experience Peter is 3X restored to run the race marked out for him.

"Follow Me"

A lot has happened since the first commission in Luke 5 yet it's still the same Jesus and the mission is still the same.

I think there are some listening to this message today that need to be rehabilitated and recommissioned.

Rehabilitated:
restore to health by training and therapy after imprisonment, addiction, or illness.

Are you ready for Jesus to rehabilitate your lovelessness and bring joy?

Recommissioned: appointing and authorizing for active service.

Your job and place in Jesus kingdom has not been cancelled or put on furlough.

“It is not blind chance
which rules our lives, but the One who dies for us on the cross…

...by Him who is too wise to err and too loving to be unkind.”
-A.W. Pink

Felix Culpa:
An apparent error or disaster with happy consequences.
