You have to chant

NUMBER 1
No you don't. Chanting was used to store, preserve, listen and understand the teachings. In the days of the Buddha there were no books or SoundCloud. It is not necessary now.

Tip: Use Dropbox to store your Buddhist files and SoundCloud to listen.

Number 2
It is dependent on faith

Buddhism concerns with understanding of the present moment. Whatever this moment is now can be known and this is not dependent on faith.

Number 3

It is a very old religion. There are now many different forms of Buddhism and it is impossible to know which one is correct?

Avoid these issues by understanding realities which appear now.

Number 4

I LEAD A VERY BUSY LIFE. I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO SIT AND MEDITATE

A busy life is seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling and thinking These are realities which can be understood no matter where you are.

Number 5

There are no monasteries near me, therefore I am unable to study

We can learn from the web and also from some older technology such as books.

Number 6

Buddhism is not relevant to today's world

The realities of our life are the same now as they have always been.

Number 7
You have to be calm first

You have to have theoretical understanding of the path first.

Number 8

You have to do sitting meditation

The understanding which understands conditioned realities, is conditioned. Sitting is not a condition for this understanding to arise.

Buddhism

is not physics
Physics (from Ancient Greek: φυσική (ἐπιστήμη) phusikḗ (epistḗmē) "knowledge of nature", from φύσις phúsis "nature"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physics (accessed 16/6/16)

Physics is science.
Not all science is physics.
Not all physics is science.
Not all physics is physics.

Science is not the only way of understanding nature.

'Religion teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world.'

Richard Dawkin: (Dawkin, 2015)

"I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world."

The purpose of Buddhism is to understand the world as it is.

Science can hinder the understanding of the world when it is taken as the only way the world can be understood.

Buddhism is an old religion.

Buddhism is an old religion.

However the right understanding of Buddhism is new. It is only recently that there are English translations and commentaries.

We are now in a position to critically examine the original scriptures and not rely on the Chinese whisper.

Iife evolves

Species evolve.

Life does not evolve.

Life consists of realities experienced through six doorways. None of which evolve. Sound does not evolve, hearing, seeing, tasting do not evolve. Smell does not evolve. Life does not evolve.

Life is the experience of objects one after the other in quick succession.

The laws which govern these objects do not change. Neither do the elements of which the world is built.

A belief that life is the result of evolution can prevent the understanding of life.

Buddhism has nothing in common with science.

Both science and Buddhism have one Big Idea in common.

All phenomena of this world arise by a cause.
