- A Feeling?
- An Intellectual Exercise?
- A "Leap?"

Trust:
- Faith is a Gift given by God.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,”
Ephesians 2:8
“"Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers."”
Luke 22:31-32
“Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!"”
Mark 9:24
Faith is not manufactured from our imagination but trusting and having confidence in someone or something worth trusting in: God.
Obedience:
- Faith in God produces righteousness.
“No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was "counted to him as righteousness."
But the words "it was counted to him" were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
Romans 4:20-25
Not merely spiritualized but a confirmation of His truth in our lives is practical fruitfulness.
Treasure:
- Faith in God causes a treasuring of God in our hearts.
“But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
James 2:18-20
Biblical faith contains faith statements but it is more than mere statements of belief.
“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6
Biblical Faith is better than a montra or a feeling. Biblical Faith contains more substance than an intellectual exercise or a “blind leap.”
Where do we live out and practice this faith?
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Psalms 28:7
