ZERO AND FIRST CONDITIONAL

ZERO CONDITIONAL

  • If+subject+verb present simple+,+subject+verb present simple.
  • It is used for truths.You can also change the orther of the two clauses but remember that you need to take off the comma.For example:
  • If I work,I get bored.
  • If you drop a glass,it breaks.

FIRST CONDITIONAL

  • If+Present Tense+subject+will/can/may + verb.
  • You can change the order of the if clause and the main clause.
  • It is used to talk about things that will probably happen in the future.
  • Example: If it rains today, I will stay at home.
  • Example:If the sky continues grey,it may rain.

COMPARISON

  • In first conditional you say a possibility and in zero conditional you say a fact.
