First Battle of Bull Run
It was July 16, 1861 when I and 10,999 other Confederate troops been packed into freight cars to Virginia. On July 21 was when the battle began me and the Confederate soldiers started shooting Union soldiers. All I remember is gun shots going by me and watching the people that I was talking to 10 minutes ago dead right beside me. It was a short war, when it was over the we the Confederate lost 2,000 of our troops. But we had beat the Union the first of many.

Battle of Shiloh
It was April 6,1862 when I heard that General Albert Sidney Johnston had died in an attack at night by the Union. We had lost that battle and lost nearly 11,000 troops and a great General. I couldn't believe what I heard. It was so hard to believe my best friend went there to fight and to find out he died.

Battle of Antietam
It was September 17 me and 39,000 troops were gathered Antietam Creek near Sharpsburg,MA. Union troops attacked throughout the day at us. I was walking around camp bodies where everywhere dead blood every we had nearly lost 14,000 troops. The next day the Unions came at us again strong. Are wings were slipping and I looked back and heard General Lee yelling to fall back. This became the bloodiest day of the Civil War.

The Draft
General Lee called for a draft because we needed more men. We also needed more money so the government ordered all farmers to pay a monthly fee to held with the war price.

New laws
The pro-Confederate government put the confederacy under martial law. This is where some of the bill of rights are suspended. Lincoln then suspended the writ of habeas corpus. This was so that people couldn't go to jail for no reason.

Emancipation Proclamation
This proclamation stated that slaves in areas of rebellion against the government would be free. I didn't agree with this because my family owns slaves and it affects their income.

Battle of Fredricksburg
In Fredricksburg we accidentally crossed in to the Union Army. We the kept charging into them. Union lost more than half of their men leading us to a victory.

The Battle of Chancellorsville
We put a surprise attack of the Union army. We did a 12 mile march around the Union. We crushed the Union army. Then other soldiers mistakes Jackson for an enemy and shot him 3 times.

Battle of Gettysburg
This was greatest and one of the longest battle of the Civil War

Gettysburg 1st day
At first we outnumbered the Union but then they brought in more troops. We positioned ourselves on top of a series of hills with a large opens space in between. We were told that the Union was ready and that we would attack them there.

Gettysburg 2nd day
We could have attacked them with heavy artillery, but we discovered that Little Round Top was vulnerable. Unable to give up the land we retreated.

Gettysburg 3rd day
We started the battle by setting off the cannons. Lee then sent us to attack the middle and the Union stopped firing. We formed a line and charged. Then General George picket sent us to charge. After only 30 minuets Lee called us to retreat.

Battle of Vicksburg
Grant fired cannons on Vicksburg. Our food rations were down so we laid down our arms and marched out of Vicksburg.

Gettysburg Address
Lincoln gave a short speech called the Gettysburg Address it was to honor the men who fought. He talked about how all the men who fought were dedicated.

Battle of Wilderness
Union started to head to Richmond I then new I would have to fight. It was a hard to day battle in the forest. One of our own men accidentally shot 2nd in common General Longstreet. Union took massive losses but never retreated. The Union moved around us instead.

Spotsylvania
May 8,1964 we caught up to the Union Army. It was two hard fought weeks of clashes. We heard that Lincoln told the Union to keep moving south. Then in June clashes happened again. Eight miles from Richmond the battle of coldharber begain.

Cold Harbor
Then in June clashes happened again. Eight miles from Richmond the battle of Cold Harbor began. Union tried to siege Petersburg. We built a defense we were willing to wait until then Northern election in November.

The Word about Sherman
Sherman captured Atlanta. Through the whole mouth of August Sherman bombarded the city. We the Confederate that were there pulled back.

Sherman Goes to the Sea
Sherman convinced Grant to "make Georgia howl". The Union then headed to capture Savannah,GA. We were told the Union were destroying everything in Georgia. We had a small force in Savannah but they were told to flee.

The 13th Amendment
On December 18, 1865 was when I heard that Lincoln passed that slavery nor envolentary excepted as a punishment for crime. This was known as the 13th Amendment. I didn't agree with the law because my family owned slaves.

Sherman Moves North
In Febuary 1865, the Union go north into South Carolina. Sence it was the first state to succede from the Union. Unions destroyed everything in South Carolina. On Febuary 17, Union troops went to the capital which that night a fire nearly burned half the city. All we could do is retreat in front of the Union troops.

Surrender at Appomattox
It was April 1865, when General Lee and Union Private Grant. They meant is a private home, where Lee asked to surrender. Grant agreed and said that we could take our horse and go home and not be punished as traders as long as they obeyed the laws.
