X-RAYS

BY: GABI HART

How long is your wave?

An x Ray is 0.01 to 10 nanometers. They are shorter in wavelength than UV rays and longer than gamma rays.

WHAT IS THE AMPLITUDE AND FREQUENCY?

  • X-rays are electromagnetic waves with wavelengths in the range of 0.01 to 10 nanometers, corresponding to frequencies in the range 30 petahertz to 30 exahertz. They have a shorter wave length than UV rays but longer than gamma rays

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MODERN APPLICATIONS OF YOUR WAVES?

  • Doctor's using machines to take photographs of a patient's body. Photographic film is placed behind the body, with the x-ray then turned on.

WHERE AND HOW DOES YOUR WAVE EXIST NATURALLY?

  • They come from natural sources, such as radon gas, radioactive elements in the earth, and cosmic rays that hit the earth from outer space.

COOL FACTS ;)

  • They take 15-30 minutes.
  • Doctors use them to see what’s wrong with people’s bodys
  • X-rays were invents in 1895
