It was 1943 at Gallipoli. I was in my boat with all my friends when MM bang! artillery striked. We reached shore and right off the start, our troops collapsed. "Mitchell help!" I replied, "What happened?" Then before I knew it, I heard a gunshot and I was shot in the shoulder. I advanced up to the hill, off the beach and Mike gave me lots of cover by shooting at the enemy in front of me.
Then Mike ran out of ammo. Mike charged at some of the enemy soldiers who were on the beach. He hit the enemy with a helmet. The Turk secretly had a knife and he stabbed Mike, I quickly grabbed a pistol and shot the Turk.
Mike was injured I had to take Mike to the medical bay. I had 5 bullets in my pistol and 5 enemies. I walked towards the enemies, I shot one of their legs. I looked behind me and shot another enemy behind me. Then a huge bomb explosion killed all the enemies that were near me.
I started to run back to the trench with someone following me. Then suddenly someone shoots me in the back.
My blood exploded out my back as I ran as fast I could to the field hospital, dragging Mike with me. l was a metre away from reaching the field hospital when I heard a shell fall. The enemy soldier who was chasing me was dead.
We reached the field hospital and I smelt the iron crisp of blood. I waited for a doctor to come and help me and Mike.
A couple of months later, once we had recovered I was talking with my mates, thinking we would like to be home by Christmas. "I'm pretty sure we're gonna reach home by Christmas," said Mitchell.
Frank, General Dustman to us, was angry because Mike had been injured and General Dustman didn't like weakness. Frank was punching Mike consistently where he had been shot. Mike said it was hurting and so Frank checked to see if it was ok.
A few hours later, I was on a tank when, Bang! the enemy came head to head with us. We all jumped off the tank. bullets firing on top of me, there was no cover! So we had to hide behind the tank. Suddenly a huge bomb came in then I fainted.
While I was unconscious I saw my big brother, Tom, in my mind. Tom was getting eaten by a wolf but he was blocking the wolf with his hand. He said, "Take the shot!" to me meaning to get me to shoot the wolf. I take the shot but I didn't have enough time. Tom had a knife he stabbed the wolf.
A few days later I woke from my coma and I was at the medical bay at headquarters in France. I took some rest. A few weeks later we had a mission I was in it and Mike was too. We had to defend our post to the last man.
I followed the soldiers in my regiment towards the trenches, the air smelt muddy. When we got to the frontline we had to sit in mud.
A few minutes later later it started raining. "Now this is gonna end, so are you ready?" asked General Zusman. We walked to the German base. We had to blow the bridge up, then we started shooting. There was choking fire smoke and screaming. We had bomb support and tank support.
During the fighting We killed them. I heard a German voice. There was a German soldier with some of my mates as prisoners. "Take the shot! Take the shot!" I hear my brother tell me. I shot him. Tom was here, but then not. Tom died when I was little in the snow but he still is right next to me when I'm lonely. I was gonna go home but, I didn't want to I was going to get the Bronze Cross but I wanted to get the Victoria Cross.
We had won this battle. We checked for any prisoners. I smelt rotten bodies. I saw two ropes. That's what the Germans hit you with. We decided to split up to find our troops.
The war is now over. Tom was the one that told me how to fight. I reached home at 12 pm we celebrated then I went home and slept.
