GERMANY

January 30, 1933: Adolf Hitler becomes chancellor of Germany, and his Nazi Party takes power and he is essentially a dictator.
This impacted WWII because Hitler got the power to manipulate Germany.

October 25, 1936: Nazi Germany and fascist Italy form Rome-Berlin Axis Treaty.

This alliance made Hitler more capable to be successful in WWII and kill many more people.

November 25, 1936: Nazi Germany and imperial Japan sign the Anti-Comintern Pact against communism and Russia.

This impacted WWII and formed another alliance that gave Hitler the power to kill more people in hue he war.

March 12, 1938: Hitler annexes Austria into Germany.

This impacted the world because it gave Germany more land.

September 3, 1939: France and Great Britain declare war on Germany.

This impacted the world because it escalated the intensity of the war.

September 22, 1940: Germnay, Italy, and Japan sign the tripartite pact creating the Axis Alliance.

This impacted the world because it brought more people into the war and effected more families.

April 30, 1949: Adolf Hitler commits suicide as he knows Germany has lost the war.

This impacted the world because Germany was suddenly left leaderless, and there was also no longer anyone to blame the war on.

May 7, 1945: Germany surrenders to the allies.

This impacted the world because the war was over and there was no more killing.

CHINA

July 7, 1937: Japan invades China.

This impacted the world because the Chinese people were in danger and at risk while Japan gained even more power.

POLAND

September 1, 1939: Germany invades Poland and WWII begins.

This impacted the world because the world was not even recovered form the last war and were suddenly in the next war.

DENMARK AND NORWAY

April 9- June 9, 1940: Germany invades and takes control of Denmark and Norway.

This impacted the world because Germany destroyed the countries while invading.

WESTERN EUROPE

May 10- June 22, 1940: Germany uses quick strikes called the blitzkrieg, meaning lightning war, to take over Western Europe including Netherlands Belgium and northern France.

This impacted the war because now countries like France have more of a dislike for Germany because of the past.

June 6, 1944: D-Day and the Normandy invasion, allied forces invade France and push back the Germans.

This impacted the world because it gave people hope that Germany could be defeated.

December 16, 1944: the Germans launch a large attack in the Battle of the Bulge. They lose to the allies, sealing the fate of the German army.

This impacted the world because Germany could no longer win the war.

RUSSIA

June 22, 1941: Germany and the axis powers attack Russia with a huge force of over 4 million troops.

This impacted the world because lots of people were killed and families lost loved ones.

UNITED STATES

December 7, 1941: the Japanese attack the US Navy in Pearl Harbor. The next day the US enters WWII on the allied side.

This impacted the world because lots of innocent people died and the war escalated with the US's involvement.

August 6, 1945: United States drops the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. The city is devastated.

This impacted the world because now we have the ability to destroy a whole city.

August 9, 1945: another bomb is dropped on Nagasaki, Japan.

This impacted the world because it confirmed the power of the United States.

September 2, 1945: Japan surrenders to US General Douglas MacArthur and the allies.

This impacted the world because it showed the power of the allies.
