The location of the battle of Argonne forest was in France the Argonne forest and the along the western front

The war of Argonne forest was against the German Empire. The United States had fought along with the French against the Germans

The importances to the Allies and the Germans
The objective was the capture of the railway hub at Sedan which would break the railway network supporting the German Army in France and Flanders.


The number of U.S. Troops involved was 1.2 million
The French had over 100,000
And the Germans had over 450,000

The number of casualties was overwhelming
The U.S. Lost 26,277 and had 96,786 the French 70,000 and the German over 100,000

The weapons that were used in the war were US M1903 Sprinfield, French Lebel M1886, and German Gewehr 98 bolt-action rifles, and .30-cal Browning Automatic Rifle; M1911 Colt pistol; M1917 Browning, .303 Vickers, and Machinengewehr 08 machine guns; German 7.58 and 9.15 cm Minenwerfer trench mortars;

They had been using trench warfare and they had to pile the bodies to make the trench higher so they could walk among the trenches
