is a little song or poem, which consists of 14 lines.

There are always 3 sets of 4 lines

the 4 line clusters are called QUATRAINS

A couplet always finishes the sonnet

couplets are pairs of lines

RHYthMIC PATTERNS

are always followed- sonnets DO NOT have to rhyme!

IAMBIC PENTAMETER
