Who was involved
Wounded knee massacre was a battle between the U.S. Army and the Lakota Sioux. The Lakota was led by Spotted Elk. As the Army was led by Colonel James W. Forsyth.

The army had gone to disarm the camp when a Lakota member fired a shot and started a riot.
