Origin

A. Global conflict started from Japan attacking china in 1931 only to launch a full scale invasion on China in 1937, taking Beijing in july of 1937.

B. Japan's goal was to completely take over China.

Origin

C. Japan was mostly successful in taking over China multiple cities fell to Japan. The U.S. imposed a complete oil embargo which led to the attack on Pearl Harbor.

D. The Communist party of China and the nationalists worked together during World War II by collaborating together to form peace throughout China. They did not want any more conflicts during this war, so they tried to mend any conflicts that they had in the past with social and political issues.

War in the Pacific

A. If the Japanese could control Manchuria, then they would be assured that Japan would protect its long term economic and industrial development of the region.

B. The Japanese blew up some on their own rail road tracks and accused the Chinese of doing it. This was significant because it was the pretext for war between the Japanese and Chinese troops.

C. The League of Nations condemned the Japanese actions in Mancnuria.

D. The Japanese did have a bigger military then the Chinese and they had more of an independence than the Chinese. This made them have a huge advance over the Chinese.

A. Political instability made China an inviting target, and Japanese leaders liked to invade a region that bad internal problems.

B. Chiang Kai-shek led Kuomintang in China.

C. In Nanjing, the Chinese were treated horribly by the Japanese. The Japanese would bomb many people, killing thousands, and would also demonstrate acts of sexual violence. One event that demonstrated the horrors of the war was the "Rape of Nanjing."

D. The Guerilla warfare helped the Chinese forces against the Japanese by sabotaging the Japanese railroads and bridges, and also they would harass the Japanese troops.
