WHEN WAS WPA ESTABLISHED?

  • The WPA was established on April 8, 1935

PURPOSE OF THE WPA

  • The purpose of the WPA was to provide jobs for unemployed people during the Great Depression.
  • It also built many facilities including swimming pools, libraries, courthouses, bridges, and other public buildings in the United States.

WHO DID THE WPA BENEFIT/AFFECT?

  • The WPA affected many people.
  • It affected the people who were unemployed and living in the United States.
  • Laborers, factory workers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, secretaries,, salesmen and women, teachers, architects and many more people were all affected.

WAS THE WPA A SUCSESS?

  • The WPA was a success because it positively affected many people's lives.
  • The WPA also was successful because it created many building projects.

WHAT THE WPA LOOKS LIKE TODAY

  • Even though the WPA was brought to an end in June 1943, many people want a new WPA to be created in order to address our current unemployment problems.
  • People believe that creating a new WPA would be a possible thing to do to help our society.
