CHALLENGES/OBSTACLES WOMEN FACED IN FACTORIES

  • Women had only a few holiday breaks
  • Bosses made them work overtime to keep the assembly lines in production.
  • They were payed no more than what the normal pay was for working overtime.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS/IMPACT OF WOMEN WORKING IN FACTORIES

  • The women created thousands of whatever they were producing by the end of the week
  • 12,000 ships
  • 300,000 aircraft
  • 86,000 tanks
  • 64,000 landing craft


FACT/DETAILS ABOUT WOMEN IN FACTORIES
many young girls found employment in domestic service - 2 million of them, just as had happened in 1914. Wages were still only 25p a week.

The women who worked in factories during WWII helped the military by making all of the supplies we needed in order to fight. Without the work of those women, we wouldn't have won the war.
