VOTING RIGHTS

  • Women got the right to vote after the amendment passed in 1920 after getting declined since1878

WOMEN'S RIGHTS IN THE 1900'S

  • After the voting law was passed they worked mostly in cotton mills, as nurses, teachers and social workers

SEX DISCRIMINATION

  • Women make up 1/2 of the population
  • In 1963 the Federal Equal Pay Act allowed equal pay for men and women that have the same job

ROSIE THE RIVETER

  • Song about how women worked in defense plants during World War 2 (1939-1945)
  • After the song was released 60 millions women joined the work force which was double than what it had been
