Flapper- a young women who embraced the new fashions and urban attitudes of the day.

Most famous flapper

  • Zelda Fitzgerald
  • Fitzgerald wrote, painted, danced, travled, and more
  • She inspired young women to break from tradition

Famous flapper's

  • Lois Long- known as "Miss Jazz Age"
  • Colleen Moore- known as the "Flapper Queen" of Hollywood
  • Clara Bow- known as the "It Girl" of the 1920's
  • Coco Chanel- famous for her timeless designs, trademark suits, and little black dresses

What they did

  • Worked for New York Magazine in the early 20'
  • Actress- portrayed flapper's of the 1920's. In person she is quiet ans subdued
  • Sing-most famous of the flapper's, only played one on the movie screen

  • New & colorful fabrics
  • Dresses were lighter and shorter
  • Evening dresses were often trimed with fur
  • Short hair
  • Straight, loose silhouette
  • Dresses were just below the knee
