wolves support and movement

  • wolves have a basic skeleton which includes a skull , back bone, tail bone, Femur, Humerus
  • wolves have strong trunk muscles to help run on then thin legs.
  • wolves also have strong neck muscles to help support there neck and help move there jaws.

wolves uses there claws and teeth for both protection and hunting

homeostasis

  • wolves are endothermic and live in mostly cold environments so in order to contoler there body teambture they have layers of fur to keep them warm.

wolves metabolic rate in digestive is effected by how cold it is by controlling the intake of calories.

Circulation

  • has a 4 chamber heart
  • has artery's ( blood flows away from the heart) and veins ( blood flows towards the heart)

Respiration

  • wolves lungs are like other mammals

Digestion

  • wolves are able to eat up to 25% of there body weight
  • wolves rip off meat and hardly chew there food as they eat.

after eating wolves will spend hours relaxing and playing to digested there food.

repoduction

  • wolves mate for life and can have up to 8 - 12 pups in a litter
  • the whole pack will help take care of pups

after the female gives birth she will stay in her den to feed milk to all the pups as the male brings the female food over time.
