WIND ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

  • Wind turbines produce noise which make them unpopular.
  • Wind turbines are large in size and take up a lot of space.
  • Birds and bats die when they get caught in wind turbines.
  • The technology is a clean energy source and widely supported.
  • Wind is free!!

PROS AND CONS

  • The creation of wind energy is clean and wind is free.
  • The cost is becoming more affordable and wind turbines can provide energy for many homes.
  • But wind does not always blow consistently and the weather may not always cooperate.
  • The blades of the wind turbines can be harmful to wildlife.
  • It requires a lot of open land and cooperation from communities to operate.
