WHAT IS WILSON'S DISEASE?

  • It is an inherited disorder in which there is too much copper in the body's tissue
  • This causes damage to the liver and nervous system.
  • Creates a ring around the eye ball
  • It is usually found around the age of 6-20
  • This genetic disorder can lead to death due to the damage of the liver and nervous system

How is Wilson's Disease determined?
The disease is inherited through a parent with the disorder. They find the disease with relatively simple test such as urine copper test to see the amount of copper found in the body. Treatments: penicillamine

Wilson's Disease can not affect any human being. It has to be inherited and is so rare that it is only diagnosed in approximately 1 and 30,000 individuals. It isn't primarily found in any race but it can lead to death possibly if inherited
