The Globe Theater

  • The Globe Theater is an example of humanism because it gave humanity what they wanted whether the citizen was poor or rich, it fit all.
  • The Globe Theater was made for performing plays and literature since in the Renaissance this was a big deal! Where he was living did influence why it was created, because everyone at this time was very much into plays and art.

His humanistic feelings

  • Shakespeare believed that his plays should be performed for the common folk instead of just the royals to show them what's new and instead of his plays being about religion he wanted to make them about actual human feelings
  • “He brought a new psychological realism and depth to drama, and created hundreds of living, believable characters, all of them different individuals showing the rich diversity of humanity.” In the quote it proves that Shakespeare was a humanist because he showed true emotion of a human in his plays that most things of this time lacked.
