THE IMPACT OF THE LIFE IN ENGLAND ON THE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

William Shakespeare - British poet and playwright

William Shakespeare was born on 26 April 1564. He’s considered the greatest English-speaking writer in the world.
He wrote 34 plays and 158 sonnets.

QUEEN ELIZABETH I
~She was born 7th September 1533. Queen Elizabeth I gave her name to a golden age of poets, statesmen and adventurers. Known as the Virgin Queen, or Gloriana, her union with her people became a substitute for the marriage she never made.

PERIOD FROM 1592-1601.
~England is experiencing an economic recovery and development of national consciousness. It means a good time in the England. At this time Shakespeare works were it bright and bright mood.(e.g. “Twelfth night”)

TWELFTH NIGHT
~This tangled love story about siblings, who shipwrecked and lost each other when got into the Illyri city.Shakespeare wrote this work during the War between England and Spain.(1585-1604) I think that through him the author expressed his special thoughts about such situations because his the main idea of getting out of the most difficult situations.

PERIOD FROM 1601-1608.
~The Royal Government hinders capitalist development, bourgeoisie doesn’t support the King and there’s a crisis of humanism. At the time William wrote the greatest works.( e.g. “Hamlet”)

JACOB I(IV)
~In 1603 there was a change of ruler. Jacob I was the first sovereign to rule simultaneously both kingdoms of the British Isles. Great Britain as a single power did not yet legally exist, England and Scotland were sovereign states that had a common monarch.

Hamlet
~The ghost of the murdered Danish king informed his son of the betrayal of his
wife and brother. Burning with a thirst for revenge, the young man commits
justice, but he himself dies.
I am sure that in this work author focused on the change of the ruler, who was called “The Dirty King”.

Period from 1608-1612
~ He understood that nobody can create ideals in the real life. Cause of he wrote plays, where even the most dark and deep conflicts got ideal solutions ( e.g. “A Winter’s tale”)

A WINTER`S TALE

~It is story about love, treason, deception and dastardly murder conspiracy, where two best friends turned into the worst enemies.I guess that William Shakespeare could tried to show “real” King Jacob and he took him as a basis for main character from his work “A Winter’s Tale”

THE LAST YEARS
~In the last years of his life, his works acquired a more fabulous character, moving away from real life. But he still condemned in his works despotism self-will and defended the power of love, faith and the best motives of men and asserted that equality of all men.
