William Peden

A Canadian Cyclist

He was on on 16 April 1906. He was known as torchy because of his flaming red hair. He is 6’ 3", and 220 pounds. He also liked swimming and played hockey, and baseball.

At the age of 20 he won 7 European cycling races. In his first year he won 24 out of 48 races that he competed in. He was in the Canadian Cyclist Top 100 of the 20th Century, William Peden is ranked third.

His earnings were around $50 000 at the time. Peden retired in 1948 and died in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 73 years.
