DIRECT LIGHT
Direct light is sunlight that comes directly from the sun at a 90 degree angle, and is not reflected off of any other objects. The equator is normally hot throughout the whole year because it gets the most direct light year round. When the Northern Hemisphere is getting the most direct light (summer), the southern Hemisphere is not getting much (winter), and vice versa.
