Why People Still Eat Ice Cream in the Winter
What was once considered a summer treat has rapidly emerged as a year-round delight, with the idea of ice cream being a seasonal product melting as quickly as ice cream on a hot day.
Much like coffee, ice cream seems to have come into its own in terms of its year-round appeal. While it is easy to see why ice cream is so popular in the summer, here are few reasons why this delicious treat and its enjoyment are no longer restricted by season.

1. Despite your opinions or feelings about the cold, winter is still one of the most beautiful and picturesque seasons. Unlike the warmer months where you feel like you are under a deadline to finish your frosty indulgence, the winter gives you the opportunity to enjoy a treat that will last as long as your walk does. A day of sledding or skiing can be made complete with a trip to the ice cream store for a serving of creamy, rich gourmet ice cream.
2. If you have ever walked into a coffee shop during the winter months, it is almost a guarantee that they had candy cane, gingerbread, pumpkin spice, peppermint, or any other of the “winter flavors” on the menu. The reason for this is that similar to how seasons change, so do people’s palettes, and thankfully, so do the flavors of gourmet ice cream made available.
3. Perhaps the biggest reason for the popularity of ice cream in the colder months of the year is its constant exposure seemingly across every medium. From commercials to well-placed products in television shows, the idea of ice cream being a wintertime treat is not only growing, it seems to be encouraged. A new ice cream store such as Marble Slab opening up in any neighborhood is always cause for anticipation.
