WHY DID PEOPLE HATE THE MORMONS.

POLYGAMY

• People of different religions diagreed with the act of polygamy.
• Polygamy involved having and mating with more than 1 wife.
• Due to polygamy mormon families were often large with many children.
• Some religions saw polygamy as dirty or just disgusting.

POLITICAL POWER.

• Mormon religion said that men were the only people with political power.
• Other religions disagreed with this and thought that women had right.
• Even people who belonged to no religion thought that the mormons were wrong.

PREACHING

• Mormons tried to convert as many people to become mormons.
• There religion told them to do this
• This annoyed alot of people from other religions as they disagreed.
• The mormons also annoyed people as the preached constantly.

PROPERTY

• All property belonged to the churches of mormon.
• Mormons did not have the right to own property.
• The chirch also decided who got what.
• That is why of different religious people disagreed.

PEOPLE OF GOD.

• Mormons believed that only they would go to heaven.
• This caused alot of upset as other religions believed the same.
• This caused hatred and tension between the different religious groups.

Due to all of the 5 p's the mormon religion became unpopular with other religions.
