Why are the Moa extinct ?
Because the Mãori got hungry

No just kidding ........
Partially,
Maori hunted for Moa because they were easy to catch.
They were flightless, the meat would last weeks and often the chicks would be eaten by big dogs.

The feathers could also be used for Korowai.
The Moa could be as big as 250 kilograms and as small as 50 cm

The Moa belongs to the ostrich, Emu and Weka you could tell by its obvious appearance the Maori killed and ate the kiwi which is also in the Moas family.
