WHOOPING COUGH

SYMPTOMS

• Runny nose
• Sneezing
• Nasal congestion
• Red, watery eyes
• Dry cough

WHEN TO SEE A DOCTOR

• Vomit
• Turn red or blue
• Inhale with a whooping sound

AFTER A WEEK OR TWO SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS WORSEN

• Provoke vomiting
• Result in a red or blue face
• Cause extreme fatigue
• A whoop sound from the next breath of air

CAUSES

• Exposed to dirt or polluted particles in the air
• Exposed to other people that carry the whooping cough

DEATH TOLL

• 4,408 out of 10,000 children died
• 1,006 out of 10,000 adults died
