PRESENTATION OUTLINE
WHAT IS STEAMPUNK ANYWAYS?
- Steampunk is an alternative history concept wherein, during the Victorian era, steam became the dominant source of power instead of electricity
- Everything is mechanical rather than electrical, so aesthetically it's grungy and metallic, with lots of gears, wires, etc.
RUGGED vS. REFINED
- There are different styles under the larger steampunk umbrella.
- Some steampunk appears more rugged, influenced by styles you might see in westerns, or pirate films.
- Some steampunk is more strictly victorian in style, with a more refined look.
