PRESENTATION OUTLINE
What is Instructional Alignment?
Start by asking yourself the following …
1. What should my students be able to do at the end of the course?
(the objective)
2. How will I know if my students have achieved the objective?
(student performance)
3. What will I accept as evidence that they have met the objective?
(the assessments)
Finally, ask yourself ....
4. What activities and materials will equip the students with the needed knowledge and skills to meet the objective?
(the instruction)
5. What will students need to perform to display their understanding of the instruction?
(the learning experience)
So .... in a nutshell ....
You will achieve Instructional Alignment when every element of your course has been designed to enable your students to accomplish the learning objective
that is ... when everything comes together to make one great learning experience!
