What Is a Paralegal?
According to law.com, A Paralegal is a person who does legal work, usually in a law firm, who is trained to prepare the work but is not licensed to practice law or dispense legal advice.

COMMON DUTIES OF A PARALEGAL

  • Legal research and presentations
  • Assist attorney to prepare for trial
  • Client interviews.
  • Drafting legal documents. Writing briefs etc.
  • Any adminstration duties if needed. Filing etc.

IMPORTANT SKILLS/INCLUDING INTERVIEWING SKILLS

  • Good people skills.
  • Legal Knowledge.
  • Great communication/listening skills.
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Great writing skills/Microsoft and Outlook

SALARY/OCCUPATIONAL OUTLOOK

  • Median annual wage is $46,990 in May 2012.
  • $22.59 per hour
  • Projected to grow 17 percent from 2012 to 2022
  • Faster than the average for all occupations.
