Lunar Eclipse: An eclipse when the moon is darkened when it passes through the earths shadow.

Why is it red?

Because the earths shadow is red and the moon is reflecting on the earths shadow.

Therefore making the moon look red.

This is also why the sunset is always red.

No. There are a lot more phases of the moon than just a blood moon.
