MENTAL ILLNESS

• • 60% of perpetrators causing mass shootings in the U.S. have symptoms of Mental Illness
• • Less than 5% of killing in 2001-2010 were diagnosed with Mental Illness
• • About 4% of U.S. Violence can be attributes to people diagnosed with Mental Illness
• • More than 180 occurrences where guns were taken from people that appeared to have a risk of” imminent personal injury to self or others” Near 40% of these cases included serious Mental Illness.
