Allow a space to push boundaries further; high scholarly debate/discussions.

Possibly lowering the number of GE courses and focusing on WGS only.

Cross-Disciplinary courses

Students need to feel safe to discuss feminism

Courses with certain perspectives, e.g., Transnational and Intersectional perspectives— inclusive to looking through multiple lenses

Pre-Requisites for cross-listed classes

Introduction to Feminist and Queer Theory

Lower Division Feminist and Queer theory courses— allows for a basic framework to be laid out.
Further explore and expand in later courses.

DILEMMAS

More full-time Faculty members

How do we market our major, i.e., brand? Attract people?

We need to become a niche for a specific market in order to compete
Women’s and Gender Studies with Polytechnic focus, i.e., “Learn by Doing”

Advantage over theory-based only curriculums

We need to show the Dean and the College that there is a presence of students interested

Physical Space needs to be created, not dispersed between departments

How can Triota Feminist Activism Community help?
