What to do when you come to Math on Demand

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Welcome

to Math on Demand
You probably clicked on the (Optional) Math on Demand link in your daily plan, wondering what this class is. Well, let's take a look...

Untitled Slide

Math on Demand (MOD) is actually not a class. MOD is a place where you can come and get help on your Math problems.

MOD is open Monday - Thursday from 9am EST to 6:30pm EST and Fridays from 9am EST to 12:30pm EST. (The teachers have meetings on Fridays, which is why it is only open in the morning)

So now that you clicked on the link, what do you?

Step 1:
Read

Step 1: Read the board.

You would be surprised at how much information you can get by just reading the board whenever you enter any online class.

So let's take a look at what you will see.

This is the board you will see whenever you enter MOD.

Notice the questions in RED?
Good, they bring us to Step 2.

Step 2:
Answer the questions

Step 2: Answer the questions in RED.

There are 2 questions on the board in RED letters. This is to draw your attention to them, so read each question and answer them to yourself.

Let's look at each question...

Untitled Slide

The first question asks if this is your first time in MOD.

If it is your first time, you will want to click on the link below the question. The link will take you to a short video that explains what we do in MOD.

MOD Video

This is what you will see when you click on the link.

When this page opens, just click the play button and watch the short video.

If the link will not open for you let one of the teachers know in the chat box and they will assist you.

After you watch the video, you will want to answer the next question...

Untitled Slide

The second question asks if you have a math question that you need help with.

You have two options: yes or no.

If your answer is "Yes" then you will want to click on the link next to the green arrow.

If your answer is "No" then you are free to go.

Remember this is optional, you do not get credit for coming to MOD. You only need to log in if you need help with a math problem.

So if you do not have any questions, you can log off.

"Yes" Survey

The "Yes" link takes you to our entrance survey.

Here you will be asked to put in your student ID number, your first initial, your last name, your virtual academy, and your grade.

When you are done filling in the survey, click the "SUBMIT" button and return to blackboard.

When you return to blackboard please raise your hand, this lets the teachers know you are ready.

Step 3:
Get your question ready

The last thing you need to do is Step 3: Get your question ready.

When a teacher pulls you into a breakout room, you will be asked to fill out the board with information about your problem and then to put a screen shot of your problem on the board. So be prepared.

Just remember no graded assignments or assessment questions, unless you can show that you have gotten them incorrect.

Thanks!

Hope to see you again!
That's it!

Thanks for stopping in to Math on Demand.

Remember we are always here to help you with your math questions. So just follow those 3 easy steps every time you come to MOD and you will be ready for success!

Have a great day!
