The Emergence of E-Mentoring

Benefits of E-mentoring

  • Kids receive guidance that would not be possible otherwise.
  • Kids are not limited to people near them.
  • Kids are more comfortable with technology and enjoy using it.
  • Kids need as much help as they can possibly get, in any form possible.

Facebook Video Chat vs. Google Hangouts

Untitled Slide

  • Google Hangout is free, which is a major advantage.
  • Google Handout would be good for English department work at Auburn High School.
  • It is good for groups chatting, which would be something that is exactly what we need.
  • Facebook is better for 1 to 1 communicating.
  • That serves its own purpose, but for education, I think Google Hangout is better.

Untitled Slide

  • Students are not limited.
  • They can study different cultures.
  • You can learn a lot by learning from someone in a different culture.
  • They can see what education is like in other cultures and countries.
  • Benefits the students because they get different perspectives.
  • It also benefits them because they have more people and options to help them.
