PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The weather is all around us, all the time. It is an important part of our lives and one that we cannot control. There are so many types of weather like rain, sun, wind, and hail.
Climate
is often spoken about at the same time as weather, but it is something quite different. The climate is the common, average weather conditions at a particular place over a long period of time (for example, more than 30 years). We learn about different climates around the world. Deserts have a hot and dry climate while the Antarctic has a very cold and dry climate.
Precipitation
can be rain, snow, sleet, and hail, and they all fall from clouds. Here in California, we get very little amounts of rain, and we rarely get hail. Snow and sleet are definitely not common here. Here summers are warm, and winters are mild.
Storms
There are many types of storms, including thunderstorms, lightning storms, snowstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, hailstorms, and the ice storm. Most of these storms are not in California.
The lowest natural temperature ever directly recorded at ground level on Earth is −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F; at the Soviet Vostok Station in Antarctica, on July 21, 1983. For most of the 20th century, Death Valley wasn't the hottest place in the world.. Mistakenly, it turns out. Since 1922, the world's hottest recorded temperature had been credited Libya, where a reading of 136.4 degrees Fahrenheit was reported in September of that year.
