The role of the nuclear bombs are to end wars before they even begin.
Examples:
The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the war with a treaty between Japan and the US.
Advantages:
Nuclear weapons are a huge deterrent for starting a war.
Disadvantages:
Disfiguration which can go on for generations, causing problems for the family down the lineage.
Disadvantages:
Smell of death which caused the city of Nagasaki to smell like death.
