Writing With No Rules

  • Use your imagination and let it run free; worry about editing later
  • No rules=More room for creativity
  • Writing by hand would be best

LOOK FOR INSPIRATION

  • You can find inspiration anywhere
  • Music, art, photography, food, scenery
  • Reading is also inspiration for writing
  • Don't look for inspiration; just let it come to you
  • Losing inspiration is okay!

KEEP A JOURNAL

  • Keeping a journal allows you to write about life through your eyes
  • Journalling can also be a "no rule" place
  • A great outlet for emotions, not just negative
  • In a personal journal, you can write what you see and feel at the moment
  • Looking back on journal entries is fun...sometimes

THE CLIFFHANGER GAME

  • You can make a game with friends or family or even alone
  • Write a scenario or drabble and leave it for the next person
  • Let the story continue until one person ends it and makes a new story
  • The Cliffhanger game can be done with books too
  • Fun and easy writing exercise

Have Fun!

  • Reading is fun, but so is writing
  • Where reading is about absorbing, writing is about creating
  • Many people fear writing because they don't feel creative
  • If you aren't paid for it, it's just a hobby. Don't worry!
  • Writing is supposed to feel good, not stressful
