How they work?

Well, they work by the water column is moving or swimming back and forth it's practically lowered into the water. It's open below the surface line with a hollow upper part filled with air, the water level within the water column increases and decreases with the waves coming in compression and decompression air.

How can waves be used?

You could use it for Surfing. Also back then they used to put a note in a bottle seal it up and then let it float in the ocean and the waves would move the bottle somewhere. Animals use it too such as whales and dolphins.

What effect does it have on the environment?

Ocean currents can have a significant impact on climate.

SOME EXAMPLE OF WAVES BEING USED

  • Some people surf and they need waves for that.
  • The water cycle
  • Plants
  • Animals
  • Sailing

Is waves widely accepted today? Why or why not?

Yes, because it helps us get to places like when you sail the waves help you move. We can swim in the ocean and lakes and more. We could get medicine from it.

POSITIVES

  • Renewable
  • No damage to lands
  • Easily predicable
  • Environment friendly
  • Animals live there also helps you relax

Negatives

Suitable to certain locations, only power plants and towns near the ocean will benefit directly from it. It effects on the marine ecosystem. Cost, wave power is in early on stages of development, which makes speculating on cost harder, black holes and floods.
