What exactly is the problem?

  • We don't pick up our trash.
  • The trash gets into the ocean.
  • Baby turtles can get caught in soda rings.
  • Marine animals consume plastic thinking it is food.
  • This causes the marine animals to suspect it is full, and eventually dies of starvation.

What can we do to solve this?

  • Clean up the mess we made
  • Do not add to the mess
  • Help the animals avoid the garbage when they go to their home.

"We know that the plastic is being consumed by organisms at a variety of scales, from plankton all the way up to fish and larger organisms." Law said.
