Evaporation
Is a type of vaporization of a liquid that occurs from the surface of a liquid into a gaseous phase that is not saturated with the evaporating substance.

Condensation
is the change of the physical state of matter from gas phase into liquid phase, and is the reverse of vaporization.

Sublimation
is the conversion between the solid and the gaseous phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage.

precipitation
is any product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapour that falls under gravity.

Transpiration
is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as from leaves but also from stems and flowers.

Runoff
Surface runoff (also known as overland flow) is the flow of water that occurs when excess water from rain, meltwater, or other sources flows over the earth's surface.

Infiltration
is the process by which water on the ground surface enters the soil.
