- Analyze some ways that immigrants are adapting to life in Europe.
Essential Question:
What are some of the attitudes towards immigrants in modern-day Europe?
Nation-State
A country whose citizens share a common culture and language.
Nation-States and Europe.
For centuries, Europe has been made up of many nation-states. That is now changing as various European countries become more and more diverse.
Immigrants in Europe.
Due to a declining population, many factories and large farms in Europe began to recruit immigrants from other countries. Yet these immigrants often come from cultures and places which are much different than Europe.

Why would someone want to leave their own country to move so far away?
