  • It was so loud that it was heard from more than 1, 200 miles away.
  • About 71, 000 people died.

  • Sulfur dioxide can cause irritation of tissues and mucous membranes of eyes.
  • Hydrogen sulfide can cause bronchopneumonia.
  • Hydrogen Flouride can cause bone degeneration.
