ALLOCATE (V)

  • To set apart or designate for a special purpose; to distribute
  • Synonyms: assign, allot, distribute
  • Ex: I allocated the basketball in practice the other day.

ARDENT (ADJ)

  • Very enthusiastic, impassioned
  • Synonyms: intense,fervent, avid
  • Antonyms: indifferent, stolid, phlegmatic,apathetic
  • Ex: When Jake hit the three-pointer the whole bench was ardent.

ASSIDUOUS (ADJ)

  • Persistent, attentive, diligent
  • Synonyms: industrious, unremitting, sedulous
  • Antonyms: lazy, lackadaisical, shiftless
  • Ex: Students who work hard and get good grades are often assiduous.

BRASH (ADJ)

  • Prone to act in a hasty manner; impudent

  • To inflict physical punishment as a means of correction; to scold severely

  • Abundant; plentiful; wordy, verbose

  • A hint; a vague notion

  • Ex: Samantha gave an inkling that she liked Tom.

LIMPID (ADJ)

  • Clear, transparent; readily understood
  • Synonyms: lucid, intelligible
  • Antonyms: murky, opaque
  • The water was limpid, you could see all the way to the bottom.

OMNIPOTENT (ADJ)

  • Almighty, having unlimited power or authority
  • Synonyms: all-powerful
  • Antonyms: powerless, impotent, weak
  • Ex: God is often seen as omnipotent,having control over everything.

PALATABLE (ADJ)

  • Agreeable to the taste or one's sensibilities; suitable for consumption
  • Synonyms: edible, appetizing, attractive
  • Antonyms: inedible, distasteful, disagreeable

POIGNANT (ADJ)

  • Deeply affecting, touching; keen or sharp in taste or smell
